EmmaRose Callaghan Announced as Dublin Regional Student Judge 2018

EmmaRose is a past pupil of Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana, Co.Donegal and is currently studying  a degree in Media and Performance at the University of Salford, Manchester. Most of her classes involve camera work, practicing performance and presenting skills to live cameras and audiences. Her ideal dream job would be to work in the media industry in the area of Television or Radio production.

“I was delighted when the Junk Kouture team got in contact! It’s such a privilege to be part of the judging process this year. The experience I had whilst participating in the 2014 Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture competition was one I will never forget”

EmmaRose teamed up with Sarah O’Dwyer to create ‘Locked in Time’. Designed from old card board packaging, dated lace curtains and antique clocks – they were awarded the Glamour Award at the Grand Final held in the 3Arena. This award provided EmmaRose with the once in a life time opportunity to walk the ‘orange’ carpet at the Royal Film Premier of ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’.

“Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture without a doubt allows students to gain new skills throughout the competition from team work to creative skills to also boosting student’s confidence and giving them the opportunity to perform to a live audience and showcase their designs. Having Junk Kouture on my CV has always gained a lot of interest when I have been in interviews and the experience I have gained has really stood by me”

As a student judge for this year’s competition EmmaRose will be looking for a design that contains detail. As a performer she will also be looking for a performance that compliments its design

“I would like to say good luck to all students taking part in this year’s competition. The main thing is to have fun and enjoy the whole journey because it really is an experience you won’t forget”
